Container Candle Care
Your Manora Studio container candle is handcrafted with care. Follow these simple tips to enjoy a clean, even burn and make the most of your candle.
Before Your First Burn
- Place your candle on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
- Keep your candle away from drafts, open windows, fans and air vents.
- Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before lighting.
- Remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax before each burn.
Your First Burn
Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface, reaching close to the edges of the vessel. This helps prevent tunnelling and encourages a more even burn in future uses.
During Each Burn
- Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each burn.
- Burn for no longer than 4 hours at a time.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children, pets and anything flammable.
- Never move the candle while it is lit or while the wax is liquid.
When to Stop Burning
Stop burning your candle when approximately 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Continuing to burn beyond this point may cause the vessel to become excessively hot.
After Each Burn
Allow your candle to cool completely before moving or storing it. Keep the wax surface clean and free from wick trimmings and other debris.

Before Your First Burn

- Always use a suitable candle plate or tray to catch any melted wax.

- Allow the candle to burn long enough for the wax to soften evenly, but never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Keep the flame centred and monitor the candle throughout the burn.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Caring for the Shape
Pillar candles naturally change shape as they burn. To help maintain an even appearance, keep the candle away from drafts and avoid burning for excessively long periods.

How to Use Your Wax Melts
- Place one or two wax melt pieces into the dish of a suitable wax warmer or burner.
- Never add water to the wax melt dish.
- Place your warmer on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific warmer.
When the Fragrance Fades
Once the fragrance has faded, turn off your warmer and allow the wax to cool and solidify completely before removing it. Replace with fresh wax melts when you're ready to enjoy a new fragrance.

Troubleshooting
Why is my candle tunnelling?
Tunnelling happens when a candle burns down the centre while wax remains around the sides. This can happen when the first burn is extinguished too early or when the candle is repeatedly burned for short periods.
Why is my candle smoking?
Excessive smoke can be caused by a wick that is too long, a draft or debris in the wax pool. Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool completely, trim the wick to approximately 5mm and remove any debris before relighting.
Why is there black soot on my jar?
Soot can occur when a wick is too long or when a candle is burning in a drafty environment. Keep the wick trimmed and place your candle away from fans, windows and air vents.
Why does my soy wax look frosted?
Soy wax can naturally develop a white, powdery appearance known as frosting. You may also notice slight colour variations or changes in the appearance of the wax. These are natural characteristics of soy wax and generally do not affect the scent or performance of your candle.
